5 K Running
Are you looking for a beautiful place to go for a 5k morning run? Look no further than Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos. I brought my running shoes with me on my trip, and it was the perfect way to experience the unique landscape of the islands.
I usually start my run at the Blu Galapagos hotel, then make a right going east towards the Charles Darwin research station. The road is made of brick and has some small slopes with cacti and various Galapagos species. As I run, I hear the sounds of birds and other wildlife.
It's about 1 kilometer to the end of the road where you can see the beautiful sunrise. You'll also encounter park rangers and employees on your way, who will greet you with "buenos dias."
On my way back, I pass the hotel and keep going on Charles Darwin street until I reach the church at the center of the city. From there, I make a right and continue towards the beginning of the road to Tortuga Bay (which I plan to run another day!). The whole route is a soft 5k that will keep you active while enjoying the paradise of the Galapagos.
And of course, don't forget to bring your running shoes! They'll make your run in the Galapagos feel all the more special.
